🔎 Jewelry Care

Maja Jewels, created by goldsmith and designer Paulo Zambrano and manager Vanesa Solano, has been developing unique expertise since 2011. Our jewelry is the result of meticulous artisanal work by craftsmen who create each piece by hand. However, this does not mean that the jewelry does not require the utmost care.

💎Our jewelry is handcrafted from 950 sterling silver, with appliqués of crystals, natural stones, natural pearls, zircons, and other precious and semi-precious stones. Some pieces are plated with 24k gold and coated with a lacquer that preserves the finish's durability.

Accessories such as chains, clasps, earring backs, and similar items are made of Italian and national 925 sterling silver.

✨Please note that silver is a precious metal. The loss of shine or change in color is due to a normal oxidation process that silver undergoes. However, there are certain care practices that will keep your jewelry beautiful for longer.

💡For proper care and preservation of your jewelry, please keep the following instructions in mind:

  • Avoid contact with perfumes and creams or cosmetic products in general while wearing the jewelry. Corrosive agents will cause it to oxidize faster and affect the appearance of the finishes.
  • Do not expose the jewelry to water. Do not bathe with it, or wear it when entering a pool or the sea, and in general, places with excessive humidity and highly corrosive environments.
  • Do not wear it in places such as saunas and steam rooms.
  • Wear your jewelry frequently. If you are going to store it, make sure it is in a closed and dry place. Humidity accelerates the oxidation process of silver.
  • Avoid subjecting your jewelry to drops and/or impacts. The metal may deform, and if your jewelry has stones, the settings may loosen.
  • Store in a dry and individual place.
  • Store your jewelry in the fabric pouch it came with.
  • Do not subject the product to high temperatures.
  • Do not drop the products or allow them to be stepped on or hit.

🔹Please note:

Finishes with gold plating, enamels, or paints tend to fade over time and with normal use of the jewelry. The more you care for your jewelry, the longer the finishes will last.

When these finishes have faded, it's time to have your jewelry maintained, which will make it look new again. Remember that we offer this maintenance and re-plating service for your jewelry.

 

🔎 Warranties

 Handmade jewelry by Maja Jewels is rigorously inspected before shipping or display in physical stores.

 Gold plating and enamels or paints that complement our products are sensitive to impacts, so Maja Jewels cannot guarantee against damage caused by improper use.

In the event of defects in the quality, manufacturing, purpose, or suitability of products purchased from Maja Jewels within the warranty period of the respective product, the Customer may exercise the legal warranty in accordance with the provisions of these Terms and Conditions.

The legal warranty period will begin to run from the delivery of the product to the Customer.

🔹The warranty period for products made with precious metals is lifelong, solely and exclusively in relation to the veracity and authenticity of the materials offered.

 🔹The warranty period for Maja Jewels products is 3 months; the warranty covers manufacturing defects. Under no circumstances will a piece of jewelry be considered under warranty, even within the period, if it has been subject to misuse.

🚚All shipping costs corresponding to warranties already approved by the Quality Department are covered by Maja Jewels.

📌 With the Maja Jewels quality guarantee, we are committed first and foremost to repairing the jewelry. If the product cannot be repaired, it will be replaced. If the same product is unavailable, another of similar commercial value to the one paid will be provided, and if the fault recurs, it will be repaired again or exchanged for a piece of equal or similar characteristics to the product that led to the warranty claim.

⚠️The warranty will not apply if the product defect is due to:

  • Force majeure or unforeseen circumstances.
  • The act of a third party.
  • Improper use of the product by the customer.
  • Failure to follow the use or maintenance instructions indicated in this document and in the product manual.

👉You can request a warranty in several ways;

  • Email us at contacto@majajewels.com explaining the problem with the product and attaching at least 4 photos showing both the defect and its general condition, as well as sending the customer's full name and contact information. We will respond to the warranty request via the same communication channel and, depending on the case, will inform you how to proceed.
  • By bringing your product(s) directly to one of our locations.

 The customer will receive a response to this request within a maximum of 15 business days.

 ❌Not covered by warranty

  • Normal use, wear, dirt, and aging of jewelry.
  • Loss of stones, if applicable.
  • Broken or cracked crystal pieces due to misuse or impacts.
  • Natural stones with different colors and shapes, or broken stones.
  • Mishandling or natural wear and tear that the product undergoes due to use or contact with external factors such as chemical elements.
  • Any damage to the jewelry resulting from misuse, lack of care, negligence, accidents, impacts, crushing, liquids, or inappropriate products during normal use or operation.
  • Alterations, repairs, or additions made to the jewelry.
  • Products that have been exposed to modifications and/or repairs by third parties.
  • Damage caused by the application of cosmetic and/or cleaning products (creams, perfumes, soaps, detergents, among others) as these can stain the coatings or color applications of the jewelry.
  • Damage caused by contact with the sea, swimming pools, hot springs, etc.
  • Broken or snapped chains after 10 days of purchase.
  • Discounted products.
